Organizational studies show that we are all leaders. Given the context, we are either leading or following in our work, moving through different career phases. Emerging leaders develop over time, learning through demonstration, application, and reflection. Seasoned leaders both pay it forward and pass it back as they build teams and navigate mid-career. Finally, senior leaders work to envision possible futures, while supporting the large organizational structure they oversee. Along the way, everyone is learning to ask probing questions, build trust, use effective communication, and promote a growth mindset. These elements lead to stronger teams, as outlined by the Tuckman's stages of group development: forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning. Please join me in looking at how phases and stages impact the seasons of your leadership!
