About Jed's Presentation:
Are AI-driven novel weed management tools ready for your farm?
Thursday, December 4

Simply put, herbicide resistant weeds are spreading rapidly while new herbicides are few and far between. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence, high resolution scanners and novel control tools such as lasers are evolving at a breakneck pace. In this presentation, we’ll sift through the advances to find the practical applications in current farming operations while looking into the crystal ball to the future of integrated weed management in agronomic crops. Examples will be provided from our recent research in commercial production fields where we compared conventional herbicide programs to laser weeders and advanced “intelligent spot sprayers”, focusing on weed control effectiveness, management inputs and crop yield and quality.
