About Mark's Presentation:

Tailoring cover crops: Matching species and management to agronomic goals
Wednesday, December 3
1-1:50 p.m. and 2-2:50 p.m.
Marquette IV-VII

Cover crops offer a wide range of agronomic and environmental benefits, but realizing those benefits depends on thoughtful species selection and management tailored to specific production goals. This session will explore how to align cover crop choices with desired outcomes such as soil health, nutrient reduction, weed suppression and erosion control. We’ll examine how to evaluate species traits and functional groups to match cropping system needs, and discuss practical considerations for successful establishment, including seeding methods, timing, and termination strategies.
