Amid a challenging and dynamic period in the agricultural sector, there’s no better time to strategize how to weather the input market storm. That’s why the 2024 Crop Pest Management (CPM) Short Course and Minnesota Crop Production Retailers (MCPR) Trade Show is welcoming agribusiness expert Erik Hoegemeyer to its Dec. 10-12, 2024, event at the Minneapolis Hilton Hotel.

“I could not be more excited to be a part of the Minnesota Crop Production Retailers annual conference,” Hoegemeyer said. “This outstanding event will be a great chance to discuss how the ever-changing global events and dynamics may affect the agricultural input sector.”

With over 25 years of experience in financial executive positions, Hoegemeyer is currently an assistant professor and agribusiness program coordinator at Midland University in Fremont, Neb. He also performs professional infotainment seminars for agribusiness firms in the seed, ethanol, ag retail and livestock industries.

His talk, titled “The Price of Growth: Trends Shaping Global Agricultural Input Markets,” will take attendees through the trends every agribusiness professional needs to know to navigate the market.

“We plan to unpack the election and analyze what trends producers and retailers need to be aware of as we move into 2025,” he said. “So much has changed in a short period of time, but there is still so much reason for optimism as Minnesota and American agriculture grows into the future.”

Other topics of discussion at the event include an update on elections, MCPR legislative policy, and a panel on soil health and climate smart agriculture, among others.
