Erin Mies, co-founder of People Spark Consulting, is a firm believer that businesses do not need more complicated processes, but instead need help uncovering the root issues to find the solutions to their problems.

Through her 20 years of experience coaching and consulting executives and leaders, she’s earned a reputation for understanding a business’ needs and finding creative and practical solutions that allow them to move forward. Mies will bring that straightforward and respectful approach to the Minnesota Crop Production Retailers’ 2024 Short Course and Trade Show plenary sessions.

Mies’ session will focus on leadership and building a culture to navigate unchartered waters. According to Mies, businesses are facing changes on many fronts, from the technology and advancements impacting our products and services, to the changes to laws and regulations impacting businesses and customers, to the operational landscape impacting how businesses operate, attract and retain talent, engage teams and achieve goals.

Mies said that success during these ongoing changes is anchored in company culture and teams. She adds that leaders at all levels can ensure the success of our businesses and teams by setting a clear direction, defining culture and leveraging the culture to attract and engage teams. In this plenary session, participants will engage in exploring these topics as each relates to their own organizations and learn concepts to help build the desired culture and weather any storms that arise.

Mies co-founded People Spark Consulting in 2018 with business partner Kristen Ireland. People Spark is a business and human resources consulting company that works with small to mid-sized businesses in the ag industry to achieve their goals through HR strategies.

The 2024 CPM Short Course and MCPR Trade Show will take place Dec. 10-12 at the Minneapolis Hilton Hotel. For more information or to register, visit mcpr-cca.org.
