About Julian:
Julian Chaky, Ph.D., leads the Biotechnology Trait Characterization and Development organization for Corteva Agriscience. In this role, Julian has functional leadership for a group of scientists whose purpose is to support all crops and biotech traits event generation, measure performance characteristics, and drive our phenotyping and characterization strategy across the greenhouse and field to advance Corteva’s Biotech Trait pipeline to commercialization. The team manages the Johnston biotech trait performance, insectary, and global regulated field research locations. Julian is a member of the Biotechnology and Seed Product Development Leadership Teams.
Julian joined Corteva in 2007 to lead the Soybean Marker Development group, which carried out all aspects of SNP discovery and native trait associations, molecular marker development, and a genome-wide genotyping lab within the Global Marker Technology group. Julian’s other roles have included Soybean Trait Characterization leader, Corn Characterization leader, and Latin America Soybean Product Development leader.
Julian earned his doctorate in plant breeding and genetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. Julian is an author on several patents, patent applications, and publications
